Bestselling author Jodi Picoult is a wizard with domestic drama, combining
aspects of legal thrillers and suspense novels with frank explorations
of relationships within and surrounding families. As a young writer, she
feared that her stable, uneventful childhood was a stumbling block to
her writing career. She soon realized, however, that the tangles of relationships
within her own family could be the driving force behind her novels.
Picoult has authored twelve novels to date, writing and raising a family
at the same time. She is married to Tim Van Leer, whom she met as a student
at Princeton. Together they have three children and a variety of pets.
